JETZT anmelden zu FameLab Karlsruhe 2026 (English version below)
Liebe Studierende, Doktorand*innen und Postdocs,
im Frühjahr 2026 geht der renommierte internationale FameLab-Wettbewerb für Wissenschaftler*innen in Deutschland in die nächste Runde.
Unter dem Motto „Talking Science“ haben Studierende und Forschende aus zahlreichen Ländern weltweit bei diesem Event die Chance, ihr Thema auf der großen Bühne zu präsentieren. Das Besondere: Der Vortrag darf nur 3 Minuten dauern und muss die richtige Portion Wissenschaft und Witz enthalten, um das Publikum und die Fachjury mitzureißen. Technische Hilfsmittel wie PowerPoint-Präsentationen sind verboten. Nur Requisiten, die am Körper getragen oder schnell aufgestellt werden können, sind erlaubt.
Mitmachen!
Mitmachen dürfen Studierende und Wissenschaftler*innen aus den Bereichen Naturwissenschaften, Sozialwissenschaften, Technik oder Medizin (allerdings keine professionellen Wissenschaftskommunikator*innen), die mindestens 21 Jahre alt sind, maximal einmal an FameLab teilgenommen haben (egal in welchem Land) und dabei nicht Erst- oder Zweitplatzierte*r eines nationalen Finales waren.
Die Teilnahme an FameLab bietet neben öffentlicher Aufmerksamkeit für die Themen wertvolle Erfahrungen in der Wissenschaftskommunikation, Training für das Sprechen vor Publikum, spannende Kontakte zu anderen engagierten Wissenschaftler*innen und einfach ganz viel Spaß!
Die Anmeldung für den regionalen Vorentscheid in Südwestdeutschland am 8. Mai 2026 im Kulturzentrum Tollhaus in Karlsruhe ist ab sofort möglich unter www.famelab-germany.de (Anmeldeschluss: 15. April 2026).

Wann und wo?
In fünf Regionalentscheiden kämpfen die Teilnehmer*innen um einen Platz im FameLab Deutschland-Finale in Bielefeld. Im Karlsruher Vorentscheid am 8. Mai 2026 wird der/die FameLab-Gewinner*in für Südwestdeutschland im Kulturzentrum Tollhaus ermittelt. Das Deutschlandfinale findet am 1. Juli 2026 in Bielefeld statt. Unterkunft und Reisekosten werden erstattet.
Was gibt es neben Fame bei FameLab?
Neben einem Preisgeld von 300 € wartet auf den/die Gewinner*in die Teilnahme an einem renommierten Kommunikations- und Medientraining vom Nationalen Institut für Wissenschaftskommunikation (NaWik). Dieses Jahr sponsert das NaWik zusätzlich einen Gutschein für ein #WissKomm-Seminar aus dem umfangreichen Inhouse-Angebot im Wert von 395 €. Als Gewinner*in qualifiziert man sich außerdem für die Teilnahme am FameLab Germany-Finale in Bielefeld und hat damit auch die Chance auf das große internationale Finale.

Registration for FameLab 2026
Dear students, bachelor’s and master’s degree candidates, and doctoral students,
FameLab Germany enters its sixteenth year – sign up now to participate in one of the most fun and entertaining science communication competitions live on stage: The regional heat FameLab Germany Karlsruhewill be held on 8 May 2026.
True to the motto “Talking Science” scientists from many countries are given the opportunity to present their research on stage at this event. What’s special? The presentation mustn’t be longer than 3 minutes and has to contain the right amount of science and wit to carry the mostly non-professional audience and an expert panel. Facilities such as PowerPoint presentations are not permitted. Only props that can be worn on the body or set up quickly may be used.
Participate!
Students and scientists from the fields of STEM, social sciences, or medicine (but not professional science communicators) who are at least 21 years old, who have participated in FameLab a maximum of once (regardless of the country) and who were not first or second place winners in a national final are eligible to participate.

Where and when?
In five regional competitions the participants fight for a spot in the Germany final in Bielefeld. The winners for Southwest Germany are elected at the competition on 8 May 2026 at the Kulturzentrum Tollhaus in Karlsruhe.
What else is there along with fame in FameLab?
Besides the prize money of 300 € the winner gets to participate at a renowned communication and media training in Bielefeld. This year our partner, the National Institute for Science Communication (NaWik), also sponsors a voucher for one of their #wisskomm-seminars worth 395 €. The winner also qualifies for the participation at the FameLab Germany final in Bielefeld and has the chance to make it to the international final.
